Avatar — A Blu-Ray must

Avatar [Blu-ray]I have to say without a doubt one of the best movies that have come out recently and in my opinion met the expectations of the viewer as well as James Cameron the director who also just took a whopping six Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. This is the first time he has been to the red carpet since 1997, where he won just about every award then also.

Without spoiling the movie and its plot, the story is about a marine named Jake (Sam Worthington) who is a paraplegic and wants to get use of his legs again. The army has given him a chance if he gathers intel on an indigenous people living on another planet (Pandora), the Na’vi. Needles to say Jake falls in love with a native girl, Neytiri (Zoë Saldana), and the plot thickens.

The dialog is this movie might leave a bad taste in your mouth but for me the movie was so exciting I did not notice it too much. At times the movie really is predictable however I was surprised at the ending which I always like in a movie.

I would give this movie 5 stars, for the sci-fi-action, cause James Cameron really pulled out all the stops on this one like he has so many times in the past. I would also give this movie 5 stars cause of the love story involved.

This movie also as an all star cast, you will recognize many faces. Great movie to see check it out. I will keep this post up to date as to when the DVD is released.

Ninja Assassin – New Release

Ninja Assasin [Blu-ray]

A Bro Show for sure, you have to see this one. In the first scene there is a ton of blood and guts, Awesome for the Ninja movie lover. The movie is about a bunch or children that are taken from the streets and taught the ways of the Ninja with no guilt and to be assassins when they grow up. The problem is one of the two of the children fall in love. Boy and Girl of course and the girl is killed by another student because the Master orders it. (The last test is to kill someone.)

Raizo (Played by Rain a Korean Pop Artist and also known as the Justin Timberlake of Korea) decided he was not going to go along with the scheme when the master wanted him to kill an innocent. There is much more plot to this movie so without giving to much of the movie plot I hope you get a chance to see it.

This is Rain’s first leading role in the US, he was also in Speed Racer (2008).

Order now and watch it this week!

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel [Theatrical Release]

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel [Theatrical Release]Not as much of a Bro Show but fun for all of the family. Dave (Jason Lee of Chuck fame) isn’t exactly the typical father figure with an average family, but he cares deeply about his adoptive chipmunks Alvin (Justin Long), Theodore (Jesse McCartney), and Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler). While the performing life presents its own unique challenges, Dave always does his best to instill a sense of compassion and familial love into his young charges. When Alvin begins to get a little too caught up in his own stardom, Dave reminds him to share the spotlight with his fellow chipmunks, but Alvin gets carried away and ends up inadvertently injuring Dave on location in Paris. Aunt Jackie (Kathryn Joosten) steps in to look after the Chipmunks, but when her wheelchair rolls down a flight of stairs, only her irresponsible grandson Toby (Zachary Levi) is left to watch over the boys. An unemployed video gamer who lives with Jackie, Toby is completely unprepared for the responsibility of caring for the Chipmunks, but he agrees nonetheless. Starting (more…)
